Welcome to RadioActive, the vibrant and eclectic FM / Internet radio station broadcasting non-stop from the idyllic island of Sifnos since 1999. A small radio station with a huge fan club, on the air 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — and never a single on-air advertisement. Our motto is simple: Music Matters.
The Music
Our selection is unique and diverse, spanning genres, decades, and cultures — a melting pot of sounds where one hour can travel from Frank Sinatra to Guns N’ Roses to Barry White. Playlists are crafted fresh every hour, shaped by the day and the moment, so no two hours are ever the same. We pride ourselves on avoiding mainstream Pop, delivering instead an eclectic and captivating mix that keeps your ears entertained and your soul uplifted. RadioActive won’t bore you.
The Studio and the Signal
Our studio sits in Artemonas, the most beautiful village of Sifnos, renowned for its stunning architecture and cobbled streets. Using the latest digital technology, we offer unsurpassed audio quality. From the studio, our signal climbs to the island’s highest peak and spreads across the Aegean: at 91.3MHz on the FM band, RadioActive reaches beyond Sifnos to the Cycladic Islands — Mykonos, Syros, Serifos, Tinos, Paros, Antiparos, Naxos, Ios, Amorgos, Sikinos, and Folegandros — while our Internet stream and mobile apps carry the music to thousands of listeners around the globe.
The Street Parties
Since 2007, on the Saturday before August 15th, the streets of Artemonas close to traffic and something magical happens: the RadioActive Street Party. Thousands of music lovers from all over the world — many of whom plan their vacations around the date — fill the village’s picturesque alleys to dance until the early morning hours, right outside our studio. The party is broadcast live on FM and streamed worldwide, a celebration of music, community, and the island we call home.
